What is Meditation?

Meditation is a mental discipline that connects us to the present moment and the harmonious state of being that is experienced in that vast open space. There is a broad spectrum of meditative practices including Mindfulness Meditation, Zen, Transcendental, Taoist, and Buddhist Meditations. Prayer and chanting are also forms of meditation.

While some forms of meditation are practiced to attain higher states of consciousness and connection  – there are also genres such as Mindfulness Meditation that are secular.  Many people choose to practice mediation in order to promote  deeper states of awareness, balanced health, relaxation, healing, holistic wellness, increased focus, internal connection, compassion and love.
